Joey Gruber
Joey Gruber (she/her) is passionate about sustainability engagement and education. As an associate, she takes on many roles as an engagement specialist, project manager, facilitator, dashboard builder, and more.
She has had the opportunity to lead the City of Lincoln’s Priority Climate Action Plan engagement process, support Kirkwood Community College’s Climate Action Plan, and currently contributes to the engagement efforts of Nebraska Medical Center and First National Bank, among others. Recently, she developed a benchmarking emissions tool for the Aquarium Conservation Partnership. Joey is also the project manager for Omaha Public Schools.
Joey holds Bachelor’s degrees in Communication Studies and IT Innovation from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her interdisciplinary background has equipped her with a wide range of experience, including sustainable education, data analytics, research, and accessibility. While at UNO, she designed and implemented waste management and compost programs for student housing buildings and food courts. As a student advocate, she also learned the importance of mitigating climate impacts and implementing inclusive climate resilience strategies.
