Belyna Bentlage
Belyna (she/her) is passionate about the unique social physics of organizations that create conditions for transformational change. Belyna uses her rigorous social science training and expertise in project management, workshop design, and facilitation to meet the goals of a variety of organizations.
Belyna’s recent work includes project management of the climate commitments by the Aquarium Conservation Partnership (ACP)’s nearly 30 (and growing) members. Belyna helps ensure members complete their annual reporting and facilitates the development of resources for members. With the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), Belyna facilitates initiatives with their executive sustainability committee and working groups focused on achieving 2030 emissions, waste, and water goals, and helps lead the MAC’s climate resilience efforts across seven airports.
Belyna has helped lead multiple sustainability and climate action planning processes for organizations and municipalities including the City of Lincoln, Nebraska, the City of Salem, Oregon, the Saint Louis Zoo, and the Aquarium of the Pacific.
Before joining Verdis, Belyna served as Creighton University’s inaugural full-time sustainability coordinator. As a former research associate and outreach coordinator at Purdue University, Belyna has learned to thrive when facilitating meaningful engagement throughout the entirety of a project to ensure successful and satisfying outcomes. Belyna holds an M.S. in Natural Resources Social Science from Purdue University and two B.A.s from Loyola University Chicago in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. She also earned a certificate in Design, Partnering, Management, and Innovation (DPMI) from Middlebury Institute of International Studies.
