Team Verdis 2024, Wrapped!

2024 was an exciting year for Team Verdis! As we expand our impact and continue living our mission to co-create a thriving and resilient world for generations to come, we’ve added three new full-time employees to the team. They’ve helped increase our capacity and expand our expertise to bring transformative climate solutions to our partners.

As a certified B Corp, Verdis Group prizes transparency. From employee engagement to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, we are always striving to progress on our social and environmental goals.

To share our progress on our goals, earlier this year we announced our very own key indicator dashboard! This interactive dashboard allows you to explore our organization’s emissions, staff engagement, customer satisfaction, B Corp standing, and community work.

2024 Milestones

Leadership Award from Greater Omaha Chamber

Five Verdis team members pose at an award ceremony holding the Leadership Award.

We’re honored to have been recognized with a Business Excellence Award in Leadership from the Greater Omaha Chamber. Our purpose is to create a thriving, resilient world, and we know our people are the most critical ingredient to our success. That means we focus on developing people, setting high standards, and leading by example. We’re thrilled to be among the excellent local organizations recognized by the Chamber this year!

LOVErdis Nonprofit of the Year: Nemours Children’s Health

Nemours Children’s Health (Nemours Children’s) was selected as the fourth annual LOVErdis winner. This program was created by Verdis in 2019 as a way to share our team’s talent with a deserving community organization to tackle some of its biggest sustainability challenges for free.

Paul Qvale, Manager of Integrated Facility Design for Nemours Children’s, said the organization’s work on sustainability grows every day.

“Nemours is excited to participate in the LOVErdis project. Our work at Nemours Children’s continues to move Well Beyond Medicine. Our goal is to help children everywhere grow into healthy adults, and to do this we support building healthy communities. Accelerating our sustainable practices and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions is right in line with our basic mission.”
Paul Qvale, Manager of Integrated Facility Design, Nemours Children’s Health

Nemours Children’s GHG inventory was completed in October 2024. We’re looking forward to continuing the LOVErdis program into 2025. Nonprofits, keep an eye out for the open application in early spring!

2024 marked 15 years of Verdis Group!

We were thrilled to celebrate our 15th anniversary last year. Ever since Verdis started as just an idea in a coffee shop in 2009, our mission has been to create a thriving and resilient world through climate action that counts. Since then, we’ve:

  • Worked with over 100 organizations across the country in multiple industries
  • Earned B Corp Status
  • Helped set over 40 Net Zero and other reduction goals including waste and water

When these targets are met, over half a million metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions will be avoided in 2050 alone. That amount is equivalent to the energy use of 71,435 homes for one year!
