Nemours Childrens Health Selected For LOVErdis 2024

Verdis Group is excited to announce this year’s winner of a free greenhouse gas inventory!

Nemours Children’s Health (Nemours Children’s) has been selected as the fourth annual LOVErdis winner. This program was created by Verdis in 2019 as a mechanism to allow a community organization to tackle some of its biggest sustainability challenges for free. Previous LOVErdis winners include Joslyn Art Museum (2019), the Jewish Federation of Omaha (2022), and Habitat for Humanity Omaha (2023).

Paul Qvale, Manager of Integrated Facility Design for Nemours Children’s, said the organization’s work on sustainability grows every day, and they are looking forward to kicking off this updated GHG inventory and analysis.

“Nemours is excited to participate in the LOVErdis project. Our work at Nemours Children’s continues to move Well Beyond Medicine. Our goal is to help children everywhere grow into healthy adults, and to do this we support building healthy communities. Accelerating our sustainable practices and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions is right in line with our basic mission.”

The first step toward making realistic, measurable sustainability progress is to measure your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions level and understand where they come from. Conducting GHG inventories each year is a critical step to identifying opportunities for emissions reduction and tracking progress toward your goals over time. The goal of annual GHG inventories is to assist in making both short and long-term mitigation decisions, increase awareness of your efforts, and provide accountability to key parties.

Craig Moody, Managing Partner at Verdis Group, explained their business feels a deep obligation to help community non-profits.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Nemours Children’s and expand our LOVErdis program to the Philadelphia-area community. We are incredibly committed to helping organizations act on this decisive issue. This type of work is more urgent than ever, and we want to make sure that the nonprofits in our communities are not left behind when it comes to climate action.”

The project is set to kick off with the Verdis project team and Nemours Children’s key parties this month.
