Verdis Group Is Officially A Certified B Corp
We are thrilled to announce that Verdis Group is officially a certified B Corporation!
Verdis has joined more than 6,700 Certified B Corporations in over 90 countries, across 160+ industries, leading the way in a global movement to use business as a force for good. Verdis is proud to be the ninth company and the only sustainability consulting firm certified in Nebraska.
“This certification validates the work we have been doing over the past 14 years. It also reflects on the talented members of our team and how their hard work has contributed immensely to our mission of creating a thriving and resilient world.”
Craig Moody, Co-founder & Managing Partner, Verdis Group
Our Environmental and Social Impact
As a certified B Corp, Verdis Group prizes transparency. From employee engagement to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, we are always striving to progress on our social and environmental goals. View our environmental and social metrics here. We will continue to share our progress toward our environmental and social impact goals on a quarterly basis.
The B Corp Process
To become B Corp certified, Verdis first participated in the B Corp Impact Assessment, a series of questions to help analysts learn the company’s social and environmental performance standards, accountability, and transparency. The Impact Assessment also created opportunities for Verdis to standardize its business operations more strategically.
What does it mean to be a B Corp?
Compared to ordinary businesses, B Corps are:
- 2.5 times more likely to be Carbon Neutral
- 4.5 times more likely to use 100% renewable energy
- 2.2 times more likely to assess the environmental impact of their business activities
- 1.5 times more likely to produce zero waste to landfill or ocean
- 2.4 times more likely to have programs to reduce their end-of-life waste
- 1.5 times more likely to implement some form of water conservation.
B Corps meet highly verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability and unlike traditional corporations, B Corps are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders: customers, workers, communities, and the environment.
“Just like us, our clients care about the social and environmental impact of their business practices. We take a living systems approach that emphasizes participation and inclusion. Investing in relationships and cultivating trust allows us to meet our clients where they are and facilitate a process of change that accelerates action toward a regenerative world—a world where all people and organizations have a net-positive impact.”
Daniel Lawse, Co-founder & Chief Century Thinker, Verdis Group
The work isn’t over – in fact, it’s just beginning. Verdis Group will continue to report on all aspects of our business to demonstrate how they contribute to the positive impact that their values promise. Additionally, Verdis is now part of the global B Hive network connecting over 30,000 users (also known as B Keepers), providing an online platform for collaboration, community, and accountability.
