LOVErdis: Nonprofits Invited To Apply For Free Net Zero Pathway
Once a year, the Verdis Group team offers one lucky nonprofit the opportunity to tackle some of their biggest sustainability challenges. After helping the Joslyn Art Museum reduce their waste in 2019 and the Jewish Federation of Omaha plan for Net Zero emissions in 2022, we are excited to once again focus on greenhouse gas emissions this year!
Recent scientific reports including from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change highlight the urgency to reduce emissions in order to cap global temperature rise at 1.5°C. To help your organization act on this decisive issue, we will develop a full strategy for how you can achieve Net Zero emissions by developing your organization’s Net Zero Pathway.
The process includes:
1. Kick-off meeting
2. Collect all relevant information (utility bills, building details, employee commuting, etc.)
3. Prepare greenhouse gas inventory
4. Strategy ideation workshop
5. Model your Net Zero Pathway with recommendations for reducing emissions
6. Implementation planning workshop
7. Present findings to key staff and partners
Interested nonprofits can submit their application here. (It’s short and simple!) Forms must be submitted by 5 p.m. on February 3, 2023. We will make an award by February 24, 2023 and work with you to determine the best time to complete the project.
Other terms and conditions: Only nonprofits in the metro areas where our employees reside are eligible, which includes Omaha, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Buffalo. Our services are FREE but any future costs are the responsibility of the nonprofit.
We are excited to give back to the communities that have been so supportive of us over the years. Now let’s strive for Net Zero!
