Verdis Group is excited to announce this year’s winner of a free greenhouse gas inventory and Net Zero Pathway.

Habitat for Humanity Omaha (Habitat Omaha) has been selected as the third annual LOVErdis winner. This program was created by Verdis in 2019 as a mechanism to give a community organization the opportunity to tackle some of their biggest sustainability challenges for free. Previous LOVErdis winners include Joslyn Art Museum (2019) and the Jewish Federation of Omaha (2022).

Amanda Brewer, Chief Executive Officer for Habitat Omaha said this project opens the door to learning, growing, and moving toward a more resilient community.

“Habitat for Humanity of Omaha is eager to be a part of the LOVErdis project. This year we have created a Green Team Committee to accelerate our goal of becoming net zero. We know that under-served communities are most affected by climate impacts which tells us it’s time to move our organization and those we serve toward a healthier and safer future.”

Verdis Group’s Net Zero Pathway process not only crunches the numbers on the specific sources of greenhouse gas emissions, they also collaboratively work with the organizations key stakeholders to create an action plan to significantly reduce and eventually achieve net zero emissions.

Daniel Lawse, Co-Founder and Chief Century Thinker at Verdis Group explained their business feels a deep obligation to help community non-profits.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity here in Omaha. We are incredibly committed to helping organizations act on this decisive issue. This type of work is more urgent than ever and we want to make sure our local community organizations are not left behind when it comes to climate action.”
